I took some time recently to hang out in one of Miami’s most happening neigborhoods, the Wynwood Arts District. It’s widely known for its Wynwood Walls, basically any Instagrammer’s dream, with wall after wall of colorful murals painted by some of the world’s best known street artists. You’ve probably seen some of these colorful walls on Instagram or Pinterest with girls, guys, old and young alike striking a pose in front of.
In addition to the picture-worthy scenery, Wynwood is also home to some great restaurants and shops. You all know I love me some tacos (and if you don’t know, now you know.) Wynwood had a great taco spot called Coyo Taco. Their tacos are served in twos, so Leo and I split the carne asada and shrimp tacos with a side of chips & guac. It was a hot day out so I opted for the guava fresca which was super refreshing! I was impressed with their menu since my friend Sara was also with us for the day, who is vegan, but she was able to find vegan friendly options to eat! Tacos for everyone!

For dessert we stumbled upon this cute almost retro vibe ice cream shop, Dasher & Crank. These are not your typical vanilla, chocolate, strawberry ice cream flavors. Think more along the lines of craft ice cream flavors like Salty Beach, Sour Cream & Onion, Mojito and Black Mint. After sampling almost all the flavors (don’t judge) I tried the Strawberry Guava Cream Cheese flavor, which was amazing! They also offer vegan friendly ice cream options. Dasher & Crank changes their ice cream flavors weekly and with the seasons, so its always a fresh and interesting experience every time you visit!

Next time you’re in the Miami area definitely carve out a few hours to spend exploring the Wynwood Arts District neighborhood.
