Belle of the Ball: Disney Bound Prom Style

I had the best time last weekend attending the Disney prom! It was held at The Hall MP concert venue in Brooklyn and was hosted by New York’s favorite Disney cover band, The Little Mermen. Knowing this was a Disney themed event, and a prom at that, I knew my outfit had to come strong in the Disney Bound game. If you are new to Disney bounding, in a nutshell, it’s where you can dress up as your favorite Disney character by using everyday clothes to reflect the color palettes, accessories and clothing styles of that particular character without actually being in a costume.

Leo and I decided to Disney bound as Belle and Beast for the event. I remembered I had a beautiful yellow, cocktail length, tulle dress in my closet that would be a perfect modern-day twist on Belle’s prom style. I used cues from the classic Beauty and the Beast ballroom dance scene to incorporate Belle’s yellow dress, with pops of red throughout my accessories. Leo chose a modern-day twist on Beast’s classic blue suit from the same scene using light blue pants, a navy sport coat, blue suede loafers, and a yellow tie/handkerchief combo.

Of course I had to have some elements of the enchanted rose as well, so I was super excited to find a simple red rose floral crown for my hair (shop it here) and traded the typical corsage for a red rose pin to fix onto my dress. The dress I wore was purchased a while ago from a boutique in Stuart, Florida but I linked several similar Belle-inspired styles for you below!

The Little Mermen played all of our favorite Disney songs, from the very popular new movies Moana and Frozen to the classics, Lion King, Jungle Book, and Aladdin, to some of our favorite childhood songs, DuckTales and Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers, it was one hit after another.

The venue’s bar served 4 Disney themed drinks. The Glass Slipper cocktail caught my eye with a mixture of vodka, blueberry, lemon and sugar and it did not disappoint!

The Little Mermen’s lead female singer Nicole’s voice was so incredible and her costumes wowed me each and every time she stepped back onto the stage. Her Ariel and Jasmine costumes were two of my favorites from the night. SO BEAUTIFUL!

I had such a blast at the Disney prom and can’t wait to see The Little Mermen live again. Be sure to follow them on their social media pages, Instagram and Facebook for information on their upcoming shows!

I rounded up several Belle-inspired dresses below:

Until next time, thanks for following along with all my adventures!
